THE PROBLEM An awkward master bathroom was the last place busy parents of four wanted to unwind.
THE SOLUTION Create a spa-like bathroom with a place to soak at the end of a hectic day.
HOW IT HAPPENED • Tore down wall to adjacent, unused dressing room. • Swapped dated wallpaper for light, fresh paint. • Ripped up cracked flooring; installed large marble tiles with heated flooring. • Placed mahogany cabinets, mirror and windows with translucent blinds on one wall. • Installed vanity with white quartz countertop, vessel sink and wooden storage cabinets. • Flanked vanity with new toilet and 24-inch soaker tub, surrounded by the same white quartz as the countertop. • Added cabinet for linens and laundry next to the tub. • Installed frameless shower with rain head, steam shower, body sprays and quartz bench. • Chose soothing palette of cool, watery greens, accented with green marble mosaic tile.
BEST TRICK Considered the view from the soaker tub and chose crystal fixture and recessed lighting overhead, sconces around the vanity mirror.
