Dining out: The Hot Five

THE HOT FIVE Everyone has an opinion about pizza. Here are five that make a blip on my radar.

BRICKS NEAPOLITAN PIZZA

Downtown Hudson never tasted so good, with plate-size pizzas (baked in a wood-burning oven), pretty salads, well-prepared paninis and desserts, all served in a pleasant storefront setting.

BLACK SHEEP PIZZA

A model for neighborhood pizzerias everywhere. Swoon over the simple crushed tomato-oregano pizza, then fall heavy for the beauty topped with thin-shaved mushrooms, mozzarella and rosemary. Don't miss the ice cream sandwiches.

CICI'S PIZZA

It's not the most innovative game in town. But the all -you-can-eat price is just $4.99, there's an ever-changing selection (taco, sausage, pepperoni, cheese, veggie, macaroni-and-cheese, Buffalo chicken) and the staff is friendly. Did I mention $4.99? All you can eat?

1292 Town Centre Dr., Eagan, 651-688-0588, and 4345 Nathan Lane, Plymouth, 763-551-5942, www.cicispizza.com

CREMA CAFE

The charming home of Sonny's Ice Cream also makes a handful of truly swell pizzas, built with thin, crispy crusts and scrupulously chosen toppings. Word to the wise: Don't leave without a scoop of something cold and creamy.

3403 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls., 612-824-3868

GALACTIC PIZZA

If the words organic, locally raised, vegetarian and vegan trip your trigger, then this funky Lyn-Lake-er is the place for you. Oh, and you've gotta love the delivery staff's superhero getup.
