Details on the proposed Minnesota Science Park will be released today

Officials involved with the Minnesota Science Park will present details later this afternoon on the proposed space that will support private research and commercialization firms.

Officials will present more details on the proposed Minnesota Science Park this afternoon at the Association of University Research Parks International Conference held in Minneapolis.

The park will house private research and commercialization firms and be located near the University of Minnesota's Biomedical Discovery District.

"We believe that this access will encourage an environment for collaboration and interaction and bring together the elements of science, talent, and capital needed to create jobs and advance the mission of the university," said Roberta Cordano, the park's prospective board chair.

The presentation, will take place at 2:15 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.

Peter Bianco of Nilan Johnson Lewis will moderate a panel made up of Jay W. Schrankler of the University of Minnesota's Office of Technology Commericalization, Richard Johnson, the U's Biomedical Facilities Program director, State Sen. Kathy Saltzman, Cordano, John Cuningham of Cuningham Group Architecture and Kevin Byrne of The University Financing Foundation.
