Do you fantasize about hula skirts and mai tais, trade winds and surfboards, luaus and aloha hospitality?

Hawaii is celebrating the Big Five-0, and you're invited to the party. Here's the best part: Not only does 2009 mark Hawaii's 50th anniversary of statehood (Alaska's, too), but we're seeing unprecedented bargains at a destination where the pocketbook can take a serious dent.

All packages are subject to availability and blackout dates, but here are some deals to consider.

Marriott Resorts' "Hawaii Five-0 Statehood Package," available through 2009 at the chain's five oceanfront lodgings, offers a fourth night free when you book three nights. Also included are daily breakfast for two, one-time resort credits of $50 to $75 and a newly minted Hawaii state quarter (depending on supplies). Room rates vary by date and resort. Marriott resorts are on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii (www.marriotthawaii.com).

Hilton Hawaiian Village's "50 Years of Aloha" package includes rates starting at $219 per night for four nights, with a fifth night priced at $50. Guests have a choice of one $50 spa credit, $50 dining credit or $50 watercraft rental credit. Bookings must be made by April 30, but travel is allowed through Dec. 20. Embassy Suites Waikiki's "Suite Romance" package starts at $259 a night and includes lodging in an upscale suite with a partial ocean view and a 45-minute in-room lomilomi couple's massage. You'll get a mango mimosa at check-in, a CD of Hawaiian music, daily breakfast and an invitation to a nightly manager's reception. It's available through Dec. 24 (www.embassysuiteswaikiki.com).

The Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber, steps from Waikiki Beach, celebrates a $2.1 million renovation with room rates starting at $139. The hotel offers the option to add a rental car, with rates starting at $29 per day (www.ohanawaikikibeach comber.com).

Wyland Waikiki, inspired by marine artist Wyland, offers a "Free Night" package through Dec. 21. Room rates start at $129, and for every three nights booked, guests receive a fourth night free. The package includes continental breakfast for two (www.wylandwaikiki.com).
