David Stern: "We're about to go into the nuclear winter of the NBA"

Here we go.

As you've probably heard, everything blew up today in the NBA. Players rejected the owners' latest offer and disbanded the union. The money quote, from David Stern:

"We're about to go into the nuclear winter of the NBA."

That does not sound promising. Unless you are a fake basketball tweet enthusiast -- and trust us, we will be putting out a lot of fake game updates on Twitter in the coming months if things are shut down long-term -- life is not very good right now.

Outside of all the regular folks who make their living in some capacity thanks to the NBA, the people we feel the most sorry for are those who routinely remember to check their smoke alarm batteries twice a year -- once in October and once in April -- by our "The Wolves are going to be better than you think" / "The Wolves were not as good as we thought the were going to be" posts.

It's just a game, now. Let's hope it doesn't turn into a tragedy.

Randle was a strong candidate to play in the All-Star Game on Sunday, but was not chosen and will head to the beach instead.
