RHYTHMICALLY SPEAKING

Thursday-Saturday: Next weekend, eight choreographers will engage in vivid physical conversations inspired by jazz, flamenco, tap and modern dance. The program features local talents Yung-Tsi Bolon and Laura Horn, Emily Broeker, Karla Grotting, Erinn Liebhard, Christine Maginnis and Darrius Strong, plus Maura Garcia from Kansas. While everyone who steps onto the Southern Theater stage for this show has something in common, the performances also are derived from the many personal reasons these artists have to echo the pulse of the Earth through movement and music. Pictured is a piece by Whitney McClusky for last year's show. (8 p.m. Thu.-Sat. $18-$20. Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Av. S., Mpls., www.rhythmicallyspeaking dance.org.)
