MORGAN THORSONOpens Friday: Local choreographer Morgan Thorson has had a good couple of years, between earning prestigious fellowships and creating commissioned work. Now she presents the local premiere of her evening-length ensemble dance "Spaceholder Festival" before it tours to Milwaukee, San Francisco and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Thorson and her cast of excellent movers (Max Wirsing and Karen Sherman, pictured, plus Jessica Cressey, Hannah Kramer and Kristin Van Loon) will explore patterns of human behavior drawn from the stories we tell ourselves -- true and false. Few artists can cue into the idiosyncrasies of movement better than Thorson. Expect thought-provoking work from one of our most innovative voices in dance. (8 p.m. Fri.-next Sun. $8-$15. Ends July 26. Red Eye Theater, 14 W. 15th St., Mpls., 612-870-0309, www.redeyetheater.org.)
