Opening Friday

Minnesota Dance Theatre will revive artistic director Lise Houlton's acclaimed "Rumblings" for its first season on the Cowles Center stage. The evening-length contemporary ballet pairs emotionally raw performances with live vocals as well as music arranged by pianist Tom Linker. Expect rhythmic influences ranging from torch songs to pop and blues combined in a work that reveals the beauty within a melancholy mood. This performance also leads off the celebrations for MDT's 50th anniversary in 2012.
