Dance spotlight: Ethnic Dance Theatre

  • Friday-next Sunday: For 37 years Ethnic Dance Theatre has brought global dance and music to the Twin Cities with a flair for authenticity and showmanship. This weekend's concert "Then and Now" features the performing-arts traditions of Bosnia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iran, Norway, Sweden and Turkey, presented from two distinct viewpoints. As always, EDT delves into the history and significance of ethnic art forms. This time the troupe will add its own contemporary interpretation to the mix, demonstrating the ever-evolving nature of culture. As always, expect high-energy dancing, rousing live music and gorgeous costumes.
