Friday-Saturday: Dancers spend a lot of time indoors, taking class or rehearsing in studios and performing in theaters. So it's liberating when movement takes to the great outdoors, particularly in surroundings as lovely as the Lake Harriet Rose Garden. Over the past 10 years Christopher Watson Dance Company has celebrated this favorite locale with the Dances at the Lakes Festival, a free event that has grown to feature nearly 100 professional and student dancers. Pack up a picnic basket, hope the rain stays away and enjoy performances on a grassy stage from Watson's troupe as well as Eclectic Edge Ensemble, Poetry in Motion, Bryan Gerber, Young Dance, BallareTeatro Performing Arts Ensemble, Apple Valley High School Dance Department and many others.
