Dance spotlight: Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Ensemble

Friday: Ukrainian dance has a long history in the Twin Cities, dating to 1934, when founding members of Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Ensemble performed in the old Shubert Theater, now the Goodale Theater in the Cowles Center. With "Spirit of Ukraine," the troupe returns to an important site in its long history. Folk dances from various regions including Transcarpathia and Hutzulshchyna will be represented on a program that strives to capture cultural authenticity through costumes, music and movement.
