Search for resilience

Nic Lincoln reveals layers of vulnerability in his solo show “Too Much,” which has its last showing this weekend. The piece opens with a transfixing stillness and moves through slow-motion disquietude before shifting into sections of jittery experimentation. Mining his own experiences of failure and anxiety, which he layers with ethereal imagery and a compelling soundtrack, Lincoln’s work draws audiences into its search for resilience against doing what is expected or doing things in ways that others will approve. Opening for the solo work is a set by Venus DeMars, whose killer voice and guitar work set the mood aptly for Lincoln’s dance piece. (3 p.m. Sun., Bryant-Lake Bowl, 810 W.
