Sunday Matt Groening is trying to follow in the footsteps of "Family Guy." Groening, creator of "The Simpsons," won't like that description, but I'm sure he'll live with it if he can resurrect "Futurama" (7 p.m., COM) with a new four-part adventure, in hopes that audiences will demand even more episodes. I wouldn't bet on it. The animated series, always pleasant, rarely hilarious, is hindered by its lack of memorable characters. Maybe Groening should think about having Ned Flanders do some time-traveling.

Monday One of our favorite blondes is stopping by "How I Met Your Mother" (7:30 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4). No, we're not referring to the ballyhoo behind Britney Spears' appearance. We're talking about Sarah Chalke of "Scrubs," who has proven that she can trade comedy chops with the best of them. Watch your step, Barney!

Tuesday "Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern" (9 and 10 p.m., Travel) has taken viewers to some pretty wild places, but will they be able to handle the grub from ... Minnesota? Zimmern returns to his hometown to show America that we eat more than lutefisk and Jucy Lucys. Well, at least I do. I can't speak for steel-gut Zimmern.

Wednesday "Peter and the Wolf" (7 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2) may not have gotten the attention of "No Country for Old Men," but they're both Academy Award winners -- and both are well worth your time. "Peter," which took home the Oscar for best animated short, is brilliantly set to Sergei Prokofiev's music. Filmmaker Suzie Templeton wisely chooses not to use any dialogue in this tale. Peter's expressive, determined face says volumes.

Thursday Good news: "The Celebrity Apprentice" (8 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11) is ending its season tonight. Bad news: The finale is going to last two hours, providing Donald Trump even more time to remind everyone that he's the most important person to ever walk the Earth. The winner gets $250,000 for his or her charity and a really embarrassing addition to the ol' résumé.
