Cretin-Derham Hall quarterback Mark Alt was injured playing hockey this week and might be out for an extended period, possibly for the remainder of the football season. He suffered a cracked collarbone in his non-throwing shoulder.

Cretin's biggest test so far this season comes tonight when the Raiders go to Stillwater for a Suburban East Conference matchup of unbeaten teams. With Alt sidelined, the complexion of this game changes substantially. Cretin is No. 2 in the Star Tribune Metro Top 10 and Stillwater is No. 7.

Alt, who has accepted a scholarship to play hockey for the Gophers, told me before the season began that he was waiting on his final college decision. He wanted to see what type of college football offers might come his way. Through the first five games of the season, the senior has completed 65 percent of his passes (62-for-96) for 979 yards, 16 TDS and three interceptions.

The Raiders' backup quarterback, senior Joe Miller, has completed three of five passes this season.
