'SONS OF ANARCHY' (FX)

Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) takes out a would-be assassin, then slices off both his hands, using one to trace the corpse's identity and the other to send a message to his archrival.

'THE WALKING DEAD' (AMC)

When hot-tempered convict Tomas (Nick Gomez) waves his weapon dangerously close to the face of Rick (Andrew Lincoln), he is answered with a machete buried deep into his skull, followed by the kind of quip Arnold Schwarzenegger used to utter in '80s flicks.

'GAME OF THRONES' (HBO)

Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) finally gives in to the demands of power-hungry Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd) and gives him a "golden crown." That consists of pouring molten gold over Viserys' head and watching him scream as he slowly dies.

'BREAKING BAD' (AMC)

Criminal informant Tortuga (Danny Trejo) is killed by members of a drug cartel and his head is mounted on a tortoise shell ("tortuga" is Spanish for tortoise). When a drug agent playfully yanks at the dead man's hair, he triggers an explosion that kills an officer.
