Cory Joseph's AAU coach: Gophers recruit hasn't made up his mind

Grassroots Canada coach Ro Russell says Gophers recruit Cory Joseph might choose a school after Jordan Brand Classic later this month.

Earlier this week, Cory Joseph's AAU coach said the high-profile recruit has essentially selected a school, although he wouldn't elaborate. He said those in the know are "sworn to secrecy."

Following conversations with Joseph and his family, however, Ro Russell said Friday night that Joseph is still weighing the pros and cons of the five schools on his list: UConn, Villanova, Texas, UNLV and Minnesota. All five are still potential destinations for Joseph, Russell said.

He added that Joseph might make a final choice after competing in the Jordan Brand Classic April 17 at Madison Square Garden.

"I meant to say that Cory has an idea what he wants to do but is making a final decision soon," Russell said. "He doesn't fully [know]. He hasn't made a final decision yet."

My interpretation: Joseph has made a decision but wants to make sure he's selected the right school. Schools are calling but because he's not 100 percent, he doesn't want to eliminate anyone. Smart move by Joseph.
