Drenching thunderstorms will be common from portions of the Plains through the Ohio Valley into Tuesday, threatening the region with flash flooding.

The region will be stuck between two competing air masses through early next week, which will focus on the thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Due to the steering winds, the thunderstorms will continue to move over the same areas, with some spots potentially seeing anywhere from 3 to 5 inches through the period.
