Cooper’s Howard commits to U
Cooper High School’s Philip Howard announced he was heading to the Gophers on Tuesday, giving the program four in-state commitments for 2016. The Gophers also have commitments from Eden Prairie linebacker Carter Coughlin, East Ridge defensive tackle Jojo Garcia and Armstrong linebacker Thomas Barber. The 5-11, 175-pound Howard has played quarterback for Cooper and could be either a wide receiver or a cornerback in college. He also had reported offers from Wyoming, Western Michigan and North Dakota State, among others.
