Construction is underway on 71st France apartment project

The 236 new apartments will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and wide-plan floors.

Construction started this week on 71 France, a high-end apartment complex next to the Byerly's store in Edina. At a groundbreaking ceremony at the site, Minneapolis developer, Schafer Richardson, investment partner, IRET, were on hand to turn some dirt. Details about the project:

  • The mixed-use development will include 236 market rate apartments and 20,000 square feet of retail space.
    • Apartments will range from studios to three-bedroom units that will include some upgrade, including wide-plank floors and floor-to-ceiling windows.
      • Leasing will start in late fall of 2014 with occupancy during the summer of 2015.
        • Kraus-Anderson is the builder, and Steven Scott Management, Inc.will manage the apartments.
