Concordia advances to national volleyball semifinals

Concordia-St. Paul extended its season winning streak to 20 matches and pushed its NCAA Tournament winning streak to 22 matches with a straight-set sweep of 6th-ranked Cal State University San Bernardino (30-28, 25-17, 25-20) in a quarterfinal match at the 2010 Division II volleyball tournament in Louisville.

The Golden Bears are seeking their fourth straight Division II title and will play the winner of the Dowling-Clarion match at 2 p.m. Friday.

Concordia sophomore Cassie Haag led the Golden Bears with 10 kills and four total blocks (two solo) while senior Emily Palkert and junior Megan Carlson each had nine kills. National Freshman of the Year, setter Amanda Konetchy, delivered 34 assists to guide Concordia's offense.
