MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Ability Network Inc., Minneapolis, a health care technology company, completed the acquisition of IVANS, a provider of secure communication services.

LaunchEquity Partners completed its acquisition of MakeMusic Inc., Eden Prairie, for $4.85 per share. MakeMusic has become a subsidiary of LaunchEquity Partners, and the common stock of MakeMusic ceased trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market at the close of trading Wednesday.

NEW BUSINESS

Medtronic Inc., Fridley, has entered into a partnership with the National Institute of Hospital Administration, an think tank under China's National Health and Family Planning Commission, to carry out a series of research projects focusing on care for patients with Type 1 diabetes.

DEBT AND EQUITIES

St. Jude Medical Inc., Little Canada, declared a second quarter dividend of 25 cents per common share, payable July 31 to shareholders of record on June 28.

Apogee Enterprises Inc., Bloomington, declared a quarterly cash dividend of 9 cents per share, payable May 31 to shareholders of record on May 21. The company has about 28.6 million shares outstanding.

Allete Inc., Duluth, declared a quarterly dividend of 47.5 cents per common share, payable June 1 to common stock shareholders of record on May 15.
