MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Ecolab Inc., St. Paul, has acquired selected assets of the Stackhouse business of CORPAK Medsystems Inc., a portfolio company of Linden. Terms were not disclosed. Stackhouse, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of surgical helmets and smoke evacuators, had sales of about $4 million in 2008.

PRODUCTS St. Jude Medical Inc. of Little Canada said Tuesday that the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration approved its Eon Mini neurostimulator to treat chronic pain of the trunk or limbs and pain from failed back surgery. In Australia, the Eon Mini neurostimulator is reimbursable via the private health system.

NEW BUSINESS The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has awarded a $1.2 million grant to the city of Pine Island to help pay for the second phase of infrastructure installation at the BioBusiness Park at Elk Run. The funding was awarded under the agency's Bioscience Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant Program. The 200-acre biobusiness park will be a part of the larger Elk Run development, a 2,300-acre mixed-use project that will include housing and commercial buildings along Hwy. 52, about 15 miles north of Rochester. The biobusiness portion of the development will include a 40,000-square-foot research, development and manufacturing facility.
