MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONSBoston Scientific Corp., Natick, Mass., said Tuesday it has acquired two technologies to treat peripheral chronic total occlusions (CTO). Boston Scientific acquired a re-entry catheter in November from S.I. Therapies Ltd. of Israel. It also will get a CTO device through its acquisition of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based ReVascular Therapeutics Inc., which is expected to close this month. Worldwide launches of these devices is planned later this year. Terms were not disclosed.

OTHER BUSINESSBoston Scientific Corp. established a $1.7 million endowment to fund the "Donald S. Baim, M.D., '75 Scholarship Fund" for the Yale School of Medicine. A pioneering cardiologist, Baim was chief medical officer at the Natick, Mass-based medical technology company when he died of cancer in 2009. Beginning in August, the scholarship will be awarded annually to an incoming first-year medical student to cover half the tuition for four years.
