Opens today: Have the guys behind "Scary Movie 3" and "4" used their powers for good or evil with the sendup "Superhero Movie" (rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, comic violence, drug references and language)?
As we weren't privy to a prerelease screening and don't have the super ability to see into the future, we can't really say. High school loser Rick Riker (Drake Bell) develops incredible strength, armored skin and the ability to hang from the ceiling after being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly. Meanwhile, after an experiment gone wrong, scientist Lou Landers (Christopher McDonald) finds he can steal human life force and styles himself as the immortality-seeking "Hourglass."
To find out if Dragonfly halts the sands of the Hourglass, and if this parody tops the high standard set by "Meet the Spartans," check back here later.
