OFFENSIVE MVP

Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama

Asked to replace Jalen Hurts in the second half, the true freshman got the Crimson Tide to overtime, then made a perfect throw on second-and-26 to win the national title.

DEFENSIVE MVP

Raekwon Davis, Alabama

A total of five tackles, including a sack, and an interception off a tipped ball for the 6-6, 315-pound, first-team All-SEC defensive tackle.

By the numbers

6-2 Nick Saban's career coaching record against Georgia, including 4-1 with Alabama.

12-0 Saban's career record vs. his former assistants. Kirby Smart served as his defensive coordinator from 2008 to '15.

10 Catches for the Ridley brothers. Calvin Ridley, Alabama's top receiver all season, had four catches for 32 yards and a touchdown. Younger brother Riley Ridley of Georgia led all players with six catches for 82 yards.
