The Big Ten Network indefinitely suspended college football analyst Braylon Edwards for violating its social media policy after the former Michigan receiver tweeted harsh criticism of the Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh's coaching.
BTN would not elaborate on why Edwards was suspended. But on Saturday, when the 14th-ranked Wolverines lost 24-17 at No. 12 Notre Dame, Edwards posted to his Twitter account that Michigan football was "trash." He specifically targeted center Cesar Ruiz and quarterback Shea Patterson.
After learning of his suspension, Edwired fired off another tweet at his alma mater that ended : "Last thing I will ask and really think about this before you get mad ... is Michigan better than Iowa?" He apologized in part later in the day, saying he "should not have attacked Ruiz and Patterson that hard or period individually" but said Michigan "still needs to step up."
Harbaugh said at his Monday news conference that "if somebody wants to attack character of anybody on the ballclub, come after me — not the youngsters."
Edwards was an All-America in 2004 and is the school's career leader in catches, yards and touchdown catches.

Monday's game
No. 20 Virginia Tech 24, No. 19 Florida State 3: Josh Jackson threw two touchdown passes, one early and another late, in the rain for the visiting Hokies, who spoiled coach Willie Taggart's debut with the Seminoles. Jackson was 16-for-26 for 207 yards. FSU had a chance to cut a 17-3 lead in half after Cam Akers broke loose for an 84-yard gain midway through the fourth quarter, but a botched handoff killed the opportunity.
