Terps now 10-0 in conference

No. 5 Maryland (19-2, 10-0 Big Ten) routed host Penn State 77-62 on Thursday night in women's basketball behind Shatori Walker-Kimbrough's guard 21 points on 10 of 14 shooting. Reserve guard Lindsey Spann led the Nittany Lions (5-17, 2-9) with 18 points.

• HAWKEYES HOLD ON: Ally Disterhoft scored 21 points and No. 16 Iowa withstood a second-half surge to beat Ohio State 73-65. Bethany Doolittle, a senior from Hill-Murray, scored 19 points with 13 rebounds and five blocks for Iowa (17-4, 8-2).

• COFFEY LEADS WILDCATS: Sophomore forward Nia Coffey, a former Hopkins star, had 14 points and 12 rebounds as Northwestern (16-6, 6-5) edged host Indiana 75-60. Three other Wildcats also scored between 16 and 12 points.

• WOLVERINES RELY ON BALANCE: Michigan beat Michigan State on its court despite Aerial Powers' 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Spartans. Cyesha Goree and Katelynn Flynn each had 17 points for the visitors while Siera Thompson added 16.

• SCARLET KNIGHTS WIN UGLY: Two free throws by Betnijah Laney with 30 seconds left gave No. 21 Rutgers a five-point lead the Scarlets Knights, who shot only 32.2 percent, held on for a 46-43 victory over No. 19 Nebraska in Piscataway, N.J. Laney led Rutgers (17-5, 8-3) with 16 points. The Cornhuskers (17-5, 7-4) shot 22.1 percent.
