The combination of strong, onshore winds, large waves and a full moon will lead
to some coastal flooding during midweek from South Carolina to New England.
Along the central Atlantic coast, expect highest seas this afternoon and evening. Later tonight and Thursday, the strongest winds and biggest waves will impact the New England coastline.
Tides could run anywhere from 2-4 feet above normal during the period, which will lead to flooding in exposed, low-lying coastal areas. Sections of the coast openly exposed to a southeast wind will experience the worst of the flooding this time.
This situation is not as potent as the storm that brought the major coastal flooding to the Eastern Seaboard a few weeks back.
