Quick programming note, since we realize Clearance Clarence is a much-beloved weekly post and we can use it to trumpet RandBall gatherings: The RandBall 5th Anniversary Redactular will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grumpy's in Roseville. This is not specifically to take advantage of the half-price pizza and bottles of wine, but we don't want to tell you what's what. As Patrick Bateman said in American Psycho, "I don't want you to get drunk. But that is a very fine Chardonnay you're not drinking." Eat some pizza. Have a drink. Watch the T-Wolves exhibition game on the television. Turn internet friends into real friends.
With that out of the way, here is this week's (shorter than usual) Clearance Clarence. As usual, the opinions expressed by Clarence do not necessarily represent those of the Star Tribune or RandBall. Clarence?

You know I've been on the anti-Christian Ponder bandwagon for quite a while, and it hasn't been a very popular opinion. As recently as Dec. 5, my Monday morning RandBall comments criticizing Ponder had a total yes/no vote ratio of 1:21. Yesterday it was basically 1:1. The bandwagon is slowly filling up RandBall. Souhan and Barreiro seem to be getting on board. I know you like to be "rational" and "logical" and "fair" but I know you will step over to our dark side eventually. I'm saving you a spot.
That said, I still don't think I'm ready to write a full-on anti-Ponder post. So maybe today's Clearance Clarence post could be like an old-school fasolalink. As you know, David Brauer normally breaks down the media at MinnPost, but yesterday on his personal website he did an all-inclusive and comprehensive breakdown of why the Vikings are unlikely to leapfrog the Indianapolis Colts in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. Mr. Brauer calls his post "wonky" and "pointless" but I really enjoyed it, and I haven't seen that information offered anywhere else. I think it's well done. I'm out the door and will be working outside for most of the day. I hope the link works for you.
