ROMANTICISM REDUX

Thursday-Friday: The Schumann-Chopin bicentennial year is finally upon us, and marketing departments everywhere are hoping to cash in. First from the gate locally is the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, which this week launches a survey of Schumann's orchestral output that will wrap up in mid-June. Roberto Abbado (pictured) leads not only the majestic "Rhenish" Symphony but also a reconstruction of the early "Zwickau" Symphony. (8 p.m. Thu. Temple Israel, 2324 Emerson Av. S., Mpls.; 10:30 a.m. & 8 p.m. Fri. Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Rd., Eden Prairie. $10-$25. 651-291-1144 or www.thespco.org.)
