Classical music spotlight: Musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra

Friday: With all the focus on the musicians' lockout, the news of Minnesota Orchestra's Grammy nomination has not gotten the notice it deserves. (The nod for was the orchestra's recording of Sibelius' Symphony Nos. 2 and 5 under the baton of music director Osmo Vänskä.) Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Minnesota Orchestra benefactor Judy Dayton are seeking to correct that with a community celebration of the orchestra's nomination, with Vänskä leading the musicians of the orchestra in a performance of the two honored symphonies.
