The world seems to end in the final movement of Gustav Mahler's Ninth Symphony. Is Mahler's 10th -- one of music's great fragments -- an anticlimax? Osmo Vänskä doesn't think so; he's programmed the unfinished 10th, in Deryck Cooke's "performing version" (not a "completion," as the British musicologist made clear), on the final concert of the Minnesota Orchestra's subscription season. Coupled, a bit peculiarly, with the five-movement symphony are two excerpts from Richard Strauss' opera "Salome," including the kinky final scene, sung by formidable soprano Deborah Voigt. (11 a.m. Thu., 8 p.m. Fri.-Sat., 2 p.m. next Sun. $22-$84. Orchestra Hall, 11th St. and Nicollet Mall, Mpls. 612-371-5656, or www.minnesotaorchestra.org.)
