Sunday: After 18 months away, the Chopin Society returns to a new concert hall on the Macalester campus for its 30th-season opener, with pianist Simone Dinnerstein. Designed by Tim Carl of HGA at a cost of $33.8 million, the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center features a handsome 318-seat shoebox-shaped music hall, a new gallery for visual art and a spiffy, light-filled atrium/student lounge. Dinnerstein, one of the best-selling artists on the Sony Classical label, will play a program that includes (of course) Chopin (Nocturne in D flat), plus two Bach partitas and music of Schumann ("Kinderszenen") and Brahms (Intermezzo in A Major). (3 p.m. Sun., Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, 130 Macalester St., St. Paul. $23, 612-822-0123 or www.chopinsociety.org.)
