Height, weight: 6-8, 199

Position: Small forward

Born: Feb. 23, 1995 in Toronto (19 years old)

High school: Vaughan Secondary School (Vaughan, Canada) for two years before transferring to Huntington Prep in West Virginia in 2011. He was the nation's top prep player in 2013, named Naismith Prep Player of the Year, Gatorade National Player of the Year and Mr. Basketball USA.

College: Selected Kansas over Florida State, Kentucky and North Carolina. In his only season with the Jayhawks, he averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Draft: Selected first overall by Cleveland, becoming the second straight Canadian – after Wolves teammate Anthony Bennett – to be selected No. 1 overall.

Path to Wolves: He signed with the Cavs, then 30 days later was traded along with Bennett and a No. 1 draft pick to the Wolves for Kevin Love. The draft pick was sent to Philadelphia in a package that included Alexey Shved and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute for Thaddeus Young.

Did you know: His father, Mitchell Wiggins, played in the NBA. Mother Marita Payne-Williams is a former Olympic track sprinter from Barbados. The couple met as student-athletes at Florida State and settled in Toronto.
