Playoff history: St. Scholastica (10-0, 9-0 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference) is making its fourth consecutive playoff appearance and is 0-4. No. 13 St. John's (9-1, 7-1 MIAC) is making its 22nd appearance in the Division III playoffs and first since 2009. It is 16-5 in D-III playoff openers. The Johnnies have never played St. Scholastica and are 8-2-1 against current members of the UMAC.
Common ties: St. Scholastica head coach Kurt Ramler and two of his assistants — John Kalkbrenner and Todd Fultz — are former Johnnie players. Ramler was the Johnnies' offensive coordinator last season.
