Who: Representatives from three cities — Minneapolis, Sacramento and Las Vegas — will make presentations in New York in hopes of landing an MLS franchise.
Four presentations: Minnesota will have two separate bids — one by the Vikings and one by a group that includes Bill McGuire, Minnesota United FC owner; the Pohlad family, owners of the Twins; and Glen Taylor, owner of the Timberwolves.
The main difference: The Vikings will have a new 65,000-seat stadium set to open in 2016; the United group is reportedly looking at land near Target Field to build a soccer-specific stadium.
The decision: Could come Dec. 6 when the league's board of governors meets at the MLS Cup, which will be played in either Los Angeles or Seattle. The MLS says a new Midwestern franchise is a priority.
