Neighbors are once again football rivals
Armstrong and Cooper renew their intra-Robbinsdale Area Schools rivalry Thursday after not having played a regularly scheduled game in 11 years. Here is a quick look at the past two times the teams played.
Regular season: Sept. 23, 2004. Armstrong 41, Cooper 6. Armstrong quarterback Bryan Trulen completed 15 of 21 passes for 265 yards and four touchdowns.
Postseason: Oct. 26, 2010: Cooper 19, Armstrong 13, overtime. Cooper rallied from a 13-6 fourth-quarter deficit, tying the game on a late touchdown and winning in overtime on Billy Kellogg’s 9-yard run.
Don’t get lost: While the schools are in the same district, neither is located in the city of Robbinsdale. Armstrong is in Plymouth. Home team Cooper is in New Hope.
