Major League Soccer currently has 19 teams, and expects to name its 24th team during the first six months of 2015. Here’s a look at the league’s planned future growth:

2015: Expansion teams in New York and Orlando begin play.

2017: Plans are for new teams in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Miami to start play. Los Angeles replaces Chivas USA, which folded after 2014. Miami’s team is contingent on owner David Beckham getting a stadium.

2018 or 2019: Either Minnesota or Sacramento is expected to be the 24th team.
