Toronto’s 5-1 victory over the Twins Monday left those two teams in a virtual tie for the AL’s second wild-card spot, just behind the Angels. Those three teams and Baltimore are bunched within one game. Tampa Bay, Texas, Detroit and the Chicago White Sox are all within 3½ games in the race for the final spot.
