21 scoreless and counting

St. Agnes senior Jack Fossand has an active state baseball tournament record of pitching 21 consecutive scoreless innings. He's hoping to have a chance to extend that mark next month. Here's a look at how he set the mark:

June 14, 2012: St. Agnes 1, New York Mills 0 — Fossand handed New York Mills its first loss of the season in the quarterfinals. He struck out 12 batters and walked one.

June 18, 2012: St. Agnes 6, Lac qui Parle Valley 0 — Fossand finished the Aggies staff's shutout run through the state tournament. He gave up four hits and struck out four in his 10th victory of the season in the championship game.

June 13, 2013: St. Agnes 1, Windom Area 0 — Fossand gave up four hits, walked three batters and struck out one in the quarterfinals.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
