Chart: College Football Playoff brings big revenue jump

Year 1 of the College Football Playoff was a success for FBS programs compared to what they brought in under the BCS.

The Big Ten and other conferences made significantly more money last season, the first season of the College Football Playoff, compared with the final season of the Bowl Championship Series in 2013-14. Here's a look at the revenue these conferences generated to share with member schools, taking the total amount of bowl payouts and subtracting bowl expenses:

Southeastern Conference: $38.7 millionin 2013-14, $71.4 million in 2014-15

Pacific-12:$28.1 millionin 2013-14, $68.9 million in 2014-15

Big 12:$36.8 millionin 2013-14, $67.4 million in 2014-15

Big Ten:$35.3 million in 2013-14, $61.3 million in 2014-15

Atlantic Coast Conference:$32.7 million in 2013-14, $57.2 million in 2014-15

Total, other five FBS conferences:$35.8 million in 2013-14,$73.0 million in 2014-15.
