Cloris Leachman is 91 years old and still as busy as ever in Hollywood.
The Oscar and multiple Emmy-winner and Des Moines native has a hit movie out, the faith-based film "I Can Only Imagine," about the story behind the MercyMe song of the same name. It has earned over $22 million in just six days of release on a $7 million budget.
Although confirming that she doesn't believe in God, she said that did not stop her from starring in the movie. "I am an atheist, absolutely," she told the Associated Press in a wide-ranging interview. "But I really think it is wonderful that there are gods for people who need them. We all believe in something."
Leachman, who turns 92 on April 30 and played Phyllis on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show, says she wants to keep working. "This is what I do. I love it. I just love it. It's very exciting." But she also knows the number of movie roles will continue to diminish. "Well, I think it's tapering off now. I'm in my 90s and everybody knows it."
Ringo is coming to the Ordway
Ringo Starr will bring peace and love and His All-Starr Band to St. Paul's Ordway Center for Performing Arts on Sept 23. This year's incarnation of the All-Starr Band will feature Colin Hay of Men at Work, Steve Lukather of Toto, Gregg Rolie of Santana and Graham Gouldman of 10cc as well as, of course, Starr of the Beatles. This is the 13th incarnation of the Beatles' drummer's All-Starr Band; his first one toured in 1989. Starr last brought His All-Starr Band to the Twin Cities in 2015 at the State Theatre when the ensemble included Todd Rundgren, Richard Page of Mr. Mister plus Lukather and Rolie. No ticket details have been announced.

Sued: A former Fox News anchor has filed a lawsuit against Bill O'Reilly, claiming that the former star Fox host defamed her when he defended himself against sexual harassment accusations. Laurie Dhue — who worked for Fox from 2000 to 2008 — was one of five women who the New York Times reported in an April 2017 article had received settlements related to O'Reilly's actions and behavior at Fox. In the lawsuit, Dhue points to public statements O'Reilly made after the article was published, saying the accusations were false and made maliciously.
