A St. Paul woman's previously recorded appearance on TV's "Jeopardy" aired Friday, and she came away with cash winnings in the four figures, albeit barely. Claudia Hochstein finished third among the three contestants with $3,797, but she explained on Twitter that "third place only takes home $1,000."

The 28-year-old, who works for the Minnesota Zoo as a legislative affairs liaison, tweeted that "even though I didn't win, 'Jeopardy' is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. The saddest part is that I never get to play again."

But Hochstein took it on the social media chin for her Final Jeopardy question to this answer posed by host Alex Trebek: "In 1946, MLJ Mags. changed its name to this "Comics," incorporating the first name of its popular teenage hero." Hochstein wrote "Jeff." The correct answer was "What is Archie Comics?"

Her reply alluded to the popular "Jeffpardy" video on YouTube that satirizes the show by making "Jeff" all the contestants' names, categories, clues and responses. Trebek asked Hochstein whether her reply was in reference to the "Mutt and Jeff" comic strip, and she said, "Jeffpardy."

"Somebody actually wrote 'what is jeff' as their final jeopardy answer tonight im literally shaking," read one tweet written by @AlecFeldherr.

DiCaprio's philanthropy honored

Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio used the eighth annual benefit for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization to publicly praise each other's philanthropic work. DiCaprio was the guest of honor at the $5,000-a-plate dinner Saturday night at Milk Studios in New York, which raised nearly $4 million for Penn's Haitian Relief Organization and its nonprofit partners. DiCaprio was recognized for 20 years of supporting environmental causes through his namesake foundation. Penn said DiCaprio's work motivated him to start his own charity after the devastating earthquake in 2010 that left thousands of Haitians homeless and without basic resources.

LOTS OF LUCK: It's been a billion-dollar lottery weekend after a Powerball ticket sold in New Hampshire matched all six numbers and will allow its owner to claim a $559.7 million jackpot, one day after another ticket sold in Florida nabbed a $450 million Mega Millions jackpot. Reeds Ferry Market in Merrimack sold the winning Powerball ticket, the nation's seventh-largest lottery jackpot. The Florida Lottery says the winning Mega Millions ticket from Friday night's drawing was bought at a 7-Eleven in Port Richey.
