The Eagles' Joe Walsh, and his wife, Marjorie, were honored Monday night by the nonprofit Facing Addiction with NCADD for their support of the recovery movement and their efforts to raise awareness about drug and alcohol abuse.
And they got a little help from their friends, Ringo Starr, Vince Gill and Michael McDonald, during a fundraising gala supporting the work of the recently combined advocacy groups offering a range of services and programs focused on prevention, treatment and reform.
Walsh, sober for 25 years, told his own story of alcohol and drug dependence, as did his wife when she introduced him to the crowd, many of whom have been touched in some way by addiction.
Jingle Ball lineup includes Chainsmokers
Twin Cities pop station KDWB announced another mixed-bag lineup and school-night date for its annual Jingle Ball concert at Xcel Energy Center. On for Monday, Dec. 3, this year's roster will feature "Something Just Like This" production team the Chainsmokers, Aussie pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer, G-Eazy's "Me, Myself & I" duet partner Bebe Rexha, meme-generated Michigan singer Bazzi and Disney TV teen star Sabrina Carpenter. Tickets go on sale next Monday at noon through Ticketmaster and the arena box office. Pre-sale options start this Wednesday. This will be the Chainsmokers' first big Twin Cities performance, not counting their poorly attended show during Mystic Lake Casino's Super Bowl week concert series. KDWB's Jingle Ball is part of a network of holiday-time shows around the country put on by national radio conglomerate iHeartRadio.
