A good luck tweet from Kristi Yamaguchi to former Olympic figure skating teammate Nancy Kerrigan is drawing online attention.
Kerrigan is competing on the current season of "Dancing with the Stars." Yamaguchi tweeted to Kerrigan on Monday, "Can't wait to see you grace that ballroom floor," before adding "break a leg."
Ahead of the 1994 Winter Olympics, Kerrigan was hit in the leg with a crowbar by a man hired by the ex-husband of fellow Team USA skater Tonya Harding.
Social media users quickly took notice of the wording and responded with memes to express disbelief at Yamaguchi's words. Yamaguchi's spokeswoman said that "Kristi loves Nancy" and "no ill will was intended."
Thompson once rejected Trump offer
British actress Emma Thompson says she once turned down an offer by Donald Trump to stay at the Trump Towers, years before he became president. Speaking on a Scandinavian TV show, Thompson said that while filming the 1998 film "Primary Colors," the phone in her trailer rang and the voice on the other end said, "Hi, it's Donald Trump here." Thompson said that phone had never rung before and it was "like a moose has just entered my trailer." She said Trump called to offer her "some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers. They're really comfortable." She said he added: "I think we would get on very well. Maybe we could have dinner sometime." Thompson said she did not accept the offer.
'be with Carrie': Todd Fisher said his mother, Debbie Reynolds, 84, set him up "for her leaving the planet" the day his sister and Reynolds' daughter, Carrie Fisher, died in December. Debbie Reynolds suffered a stroke and died one day after Carrie Fisher, 60, died following a heart attack. Todd Fisher said his mother told him she wanted "to go be with Carrie" before she died. Fisher said he's "really OK" with his mother's death, but "not so OK" with his sister's. He said the revival of the Star Wars films and Fisher's role as Princess Leia meant she was in the middle of what he thought to be "her finest hours." Fisher and Reynolds will be remembered Saturday at Hollywood memorial service.
'He's perfectly fine': Willie Nelson has played nearly a dozen shows in recent weeks and is not deathly ill, his publicist said, despite a series of reports claiming the country music legend is struggling to breathe. A March 13 Radar Online report quoted an anonymous source saying Nelson was "deathly ill." Elaine Schock, Nelson's publicist, denied the report, saying, "He's perfectly fine." The 83-year-old took the stage before more than 75,000 people at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at NRG Stadium on March 18. It was part of a series of shows in Texas and Florida over the past two months.
