American Idols and one of its most successful champs will be visiting the Twin Cities in late summer. Carrie Underwood, right, the 2005 "Idol" winner who has become one of the hottest names in country music, will headline the Minnesota State Fair on Aug. 31.

With three smash albums and a record-setting back-to-back entertainer of the year prizes from the Academy of Country Music, Underwood comes with a steep price -- $59 for the best tickets, one of the grandstand's highest prices ever. Tickets, starting at $39, will go on sale May 8.

The current crop of Idols, a hit-and-miss crew featuring Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and eight other finalists, will perform Aug. 29 at Target Center. The 49-city tour starts July 1 so the Idols will be in the home stretch by the time they hit Minneapolis. Tickets will go on sale May 15.

Like "American Idol," the Jonas Brothers seem to be fading, but they will still try to fill Xcel Energy Center on Sept. 8. Their tour, with opener Demi Lovato, starts July 27, the same day the soundtrack to "Camp Rock 2" will be released; that Disney Channel movie will premiere on Sept. 3. JoBros concert tickets will go on sale May 15 at teamjonas.com.

In other concert news, grunge goddess Courtney Love returns with Hole on June 14 at First Avenue, Swell Season is back on July 25 at First Avenue, the National is booked for Aug. 5-6 at First Avenue, and the BoDeans will open the State Fair grandstand series on Aug. 26.
