'Carrie the Musical' scares up a new season

Carrie The Musical

Opening: Minneapolis Musical Theatre is opening its season with this story about an outsider with extraordinary powers. The show is based on the Stephen King novel. MMT's Steven Meerdink directs the production, with Jill Iverson in the title role. Lori Maxwell, a regular with MMT ("Great American Trailer Park Musical"), plays Carrie's mother. The musical opened on Broadway in 1988 and it has been "reimagined" in this version with a book by Lawrence Cohen, screenwriter of the 1976 film.
