Building momentum is a two-step process:

1. get a win2. win again As I wrote in today's Star Tribune, the win at Indiana was huge … but only if the Gophers keep the momentum rolling as they head into Penn State this weekend. Two more opportunities lie just around the corner in the Nittany Lions and then Northwestern at home. Can the Gophers take advantage and really start something? Or will we look back on the long season and see the Indiana game as merely a fluke? Coach Tubby Smith knows how meaningful or meaningless a single game can be in this conference, so you can believe he'll be preaching to his team about keeping the energy high and the cockiness low. "It's just one win," he said. "We've lost four in a row. We'll know at the end of the season what it meant."
