Cameo Critic: Jordan Knight

Jordan Knight, the high-voiced balladeer in New Kids on the Block, is a fan of soul music. His latest fave is Ne-Yo, who happens to join NKOTB on the group's latest single, "Single." The quintet performs Tuesday at Xcel Center in St. Paul without Ne-Yo.

"This kid -- I wonder what Ne-Yo stands for? -- is really amazing. Growing up, I was a huge fan of Michael Jackson, and he's kind of got a very slick old-school yet new-school R&B, Michael Jackson-ish feel to him. In this day and age when new music kind of gets stale, he throws you back to the good old days of R&B with a new flair. I would definitely check out anything Ne-Yo puts out. He's an amazing songwriter and a great singer and he does really great background vocal arrangements."
