Wells Fargo & Co. named Laura Oberst head of the business banking group. Oberst joined the company as a management trainee and became a retail branch manager in 1985. She has led the North Region of Wells Fargo middle market banking since 2014 and held leadership positions in community and commercial banking.

Moving up

Smead Manufacturing, Hastings, named Dan Wagner vice president of sales. Wagner most recently was director of national accounts.

Wells Fargo named Steve McKenzie senior director of brokerage for the Private Bank for the Great Lakes Region. McKenzie joined the company in 2003 as regional brokerage manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region and worked for Capital Bank Partners, Uvest Investment services, BB&T and Merrill Lynch.

Ideal Credit Union, Woodbury, named Alisha Johnson executive vice president of operations. Johnson joined Ideal in 2010 as vice president of marketing and was named senior vice president of marketing, sales and service in 2012.

Fredrikson & Byron, Minneapolis, named Pamela Abbate-Dattilo, Aron Frakes, Robert Oberlies and Bradley Wallace shareholders.

Winthrop & Weinstine, Minneapolis, named Kristi Hayek counsel in the banking and finance group. Hayek was in-house counsel for General Growth Properties. Winthrop & Weinstine also named Renay Leone attorney in the real estate group. Leone was a real estate planner for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.

Horty Elving, Minneapolis, named Tu-Anh Bui Johnson associate. Bui Johnson joined the firm in 2013 and is a senior environments designer in the health care practice group.

On the move

FRWD, Minneapolis, named Nathan Eide director of the momentum test and learn practice area. Eide was director of media, connections and analytics at Bolin Marketing.

Chartwell Financial Advisory, Minneapolis, named Matt Dennison and Ryan Soderberg senior analysts. Dennison was an equity research senior associate for RBC Capital Markets and worked for Northland Securities. Soderberg was a senior analyst for Greene Holcomb Fisher and worked for Rutberg & Co.
